Carolina Panthers 16 – 24 Green Bay Packers

The Packers remain one of the strongest teams in the NFC and moved to 11-3 with the win Sunday, as they keep inching closer and closer to a playoff berth while being carried — once again — by the play of Aaron Rodgers, even if he wasn’t a decisive presence this time around. The veteran quarterback completed 20 of his 29 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, while Aaron Jones recorded 145 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while also adding three receptions for 13 yards. The Packers jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the first quarter and were up by 18 points at the break (21-3), virtually ending any chances of a Panthers’ comeback. The Packers were limited to just three points in the second half, but the Panthers’ offense couldn’t come up in the clutch and ended losing by eight points despite outscoring Green Bay by a 13-3 score in the final 30 minutes of action. Teddy Bridgewater completed 21 of 35 passes for 258 yards for the Panthers, but he also added four carries for 26 yards and a rushing touchdown. The team’s biggest offensive threat was D.J. Moore, as he ended with six receptions for 131 yards despite being unable to find the end zone.

Pittsburgh Steelers 17 – 27 Cincinnati Bengals

The Steelers were undefeated until a few weeks ago, but they are undoubtedly trending in the wrong direction of late since they’ve suffered three losses in a row — the last one against a division rival, the Bengals, in a game where they failed to appear in the first half while paying a steep price for it. The Bengals outscored the Steelers by a 17-0 score in the first half and that was enough to seal the win. Pittsburgh woke up in the second half and outscored Cincinnati by seven points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to turn things around and they extended their losing streak to three games while falling to 11-3. The Bengals, on the other hand, improved to 3-10-1. Ryan Finley did a good job of managing the game for the Bengals, as he completed seven of his 13 passes for 89 yards and a score, but he also added 47 rushing yards and a touchdown in 10 carries. Giovani Bernard also delivered a strong performance, racking up 83 yards and a score of his own on 25 carries. As for the Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger completed 20 of 38 passes for 170 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Benny Snell went for 84 yards and a TD on 18 carries, while Diontae Johnson made eight grabs for 59 yards and a score to lead the receiving corps.

San Francisco 49ers 33 – Dallas Cowboys 41

The Cowboys earned a massive win over the 49ers and kept their playoff chances alive despite their underwhelming 5-9 record, while the 49ers fell to 5-9 as well in a game where they trailed at first, turned things around but later crumbled when it mattered the most. The Cowboys jumped to a 14-0 lead to start the game and it seemed as if they’d never look back from there, but they were outscored 24-10 between the end of the first quarter and the end of the third — meaning the game was tied 24-24 heading into the final 15 minutes. The Cowboys appeared when it mattered the most, though, and they outscored San Francisco by a 17-9 score in the final quarter to come away with the win. Andy Dalton only completed 19 of his 33 passes, but he finished with 209 yards and two touchdowns. Tony Pollard looked impressive as Ezekiel Elliott’s replacement and finished with 12 carries for 69 yards and two scores, while CeeDee Lamb chipped in with five receptions for 85 yards. Nick Mullens completed 21 of 36 passes for San Francisco, racking up 219 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while the biggest contributions from position players came from receivers Kendrick Bourne (four catches, 84 yards, a touchdown) and Brandon Aiyuk (nine grabs for 73 yards and a score).
