English Premier League – Match Day 21

West Bromwich vs Fulham

West Bromwich and Fulham would be relegated if the Premier League season ended today, so it’s not a secret that they need to play better moving forward. This game might be what West Brom need to start moving up in the standings, as they’re coming off a 5-0 loss against Manchester City and have gone W1, L4 in their last five league matches. Fulham, on the other hand, are coming off a draw the last time out (0-0 against Brighton) but are yet to secure a win in any of their last five league matches (D2, L3). West Bromwich (+246) enter this game as clear underdogs according to the market, but they have the tools to secure a huge win against Fulham (+134) in this relegation six-pointer. Even though a draw (+227) isn’t entirely out of the question, these two needy teams are likely to go all-out for the win. Expect the visitors to pull the upset.

Southampton vs Aston Villa

Southampton are coming off a 1-3 home loss against Arsenal the last time out, and that result extended their losing streak to two games — The Saints have also won just once in their last five Premier League contests (W1, D2, L2) and look like a far cry from the team that was turning heads at the beginning of the season. Aston Villa have also been turning in the wrong direction since they have an even worst W1, D1, L3 record over their last five Premier League appearances following their 3-2 away loss against Burnley earlier this week. Southampton (+183) have gone W5, D1, L4 at home and have the edge of playing at St Mary’s Stadium once again, while Aston Villa (+149) will go out on the road for the second straight game this week and have posted a less-than-inspiring run of D1, L3 in their last four away games, with their three losses coming in consecutive matches. Expect The Saints to secure the three points in this one.

Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton

Crystal Palace are coming off a 3-2 home loss against West Ham United the last time out, and that means they have dropped two games in a row while winning just once in their last five league contests (W1, D2, L2) — if they can’t get out of this negative run of results, then they’re likely to struggle with relegation once again. Wolverhampton have not fared much better of late, though, as their 0-0 draw against Chelsea means they’ve taken just two points of their last 15 available in the EPL (D2, L3). Crystal Palace (+208) have the edge of playing at home in this game, but they’ve won just three of their 10 home contests this season (W3, D3, L4). As for Wolverhampton (+163), they’re still trying to find a way to replace Raul Jimenez and have been trending in the wrong direction, especially due to their W3, D2, L5 record on the road — they’ve taken just two points of their last 15 available when playing on the road. With that in mind, expect this game to end in a draw.
