English Premier League – Match Day 19

Leeds United vs Brighton

Leeds United currently sit in 12th place of the standings and are coming off a 3-0 away loss against Tottenham, but they’ve taken maximum points in three of their last five league matches while also playing quite well in their own venue. As for Brighton, they enter this game following a 1-0 loss at Manchester City, and they’ve been playing poorly of late, winning just three of their last 15 points (D3, L2) and riding a D5, L4 streak in league play while sitting just two points above the red zone. Leeds United (+117) has been very inconsistent all season long and sit in midtable so far, but they have won three of their last five league matches and are coming off back-to-back wins at Elland Road, while Brighton (+245) have been offensively challenged all season long and have been struggling on the road, where they’ve won just two of nine matches while riding a four-game winless streak (D2, L2). That should be enough reason to believe Leeds should come away with the three points here. Even though Brighton might have the weapons to potentially escape with a draw, Leeds shouldn’t have major issues to win here if they keep playing like they’ve done it all year long. Plus, this is one of our two five-star bets for the upcoming EPL slate!

Leicester City vs Southampton

Leicester City have been one of the top title contenders this season and currently sit in fourth place of the standings with 32 points — they are just four points behind the current league leaders, Manchester United, and they’re coming off a 2-1 away win at Newcastle United that pushed their undefeated streak in the league to four games (W2, D2). Southampton were one of the best sides in the Premier League over the first few weeks of the campaign but have been playing poorly of late — even though they registered a huge 1-0 win over Liverpool the last time out, that has been their lone victory over their last five league matches (W1, D3, L1). Leicester (-123) are clearly listed as favorites here and that shouldn’t be surprising — they seem unstoppable at the moment and are undoubtedly trending in the right direction. Southampton (+352) might not have enough in them to pull a second straight upset, and Leicester should walk away with the win. This is one of our two five-star bets for the upcoming EPL slate!

Wolverhampton vs West Bromwich Albion

Wolverhampton are coming off a 2-1 home loss against Everton and this means they have gone winless in their last five league EPL contests (D2, L3) — this is a clear downgrade compared to what they had been doing last season, when they were one of the teams that competed for a UEFA Europa League berth until the final weeks of the campaign. West Bromwich Albion have also been struggling of late and, if the season ended today, they would be relegated to the Championship — they enter this game on a two-game losing streak following a 4-0 home defeat against Arsenal, they’ve dropped three of their last four contests and they’ve also won just once all season long (W1, D5, L11). It’s clear both teams are struggling, with the Wolves (-152) struggling upfront due to the loss of Raul Jimenez and West Brom (+584) looking unable to pose a threat in the final meters. With that in mind, a draw (+263) wouldn’t be a bad result here.
