DraftKings PGA Projected Ownership Plays Of The Week: RBC Canadian Open

The PGA Tour stops in Canada this week. The field is another yawner as most players are taking a week off after another major championship. The RBC Open is played at Glen Abbey Golf Club which measures out to 7,252 yards and plays as a par 72. Both bombers and accuracy players have had success here. As long as you can hit the ball to where you can best get close to the flag, you will have success. Let us take a look at the ownership plays for the RBC Canadian Open!

Jim Furyk $9100

Projected Ownership: 6%

Jim Furyk is having a down year by his standards since coming back from injury. However, Furyk has managed 3 top 35 finishes in a row after missing 6 cut in a row. Glen Abbey has been a comfortable course for Jim Furyk. He has finished inside the top 13 the last 4 years at the RBC Canadian Open. RotoQL’s  lineup optimizer has Furyk projected with the 7th highest score for players priced $8000 and up. He is the only player above $9000 that is projected to have less than 15% ownership.

Shane Lowry $8600

Projected Ownership: 5%

All the stats seem to line up for Shane Lowry this week. In the last 8 rounds, Shane Lowry is 5th in Draftkings points, 24th in SG: Total, and  33rd in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green among all the players in the field. It may be his first visit to the RBC, but Shane Lowry makes for an excellent GPP play given his low ownership.

Harris English  $8400

Projected Ownership: 6%

Harris English and Shane Lowry are the low ownership plays in the $8000 range this week on DraftKings. English will be very low owned this week as he is surrounded by more popular players like Patrick Cantlay, Graham DeLaet, and Ian Poulter. English has only 1 missed cut in his last 6 events. He is ranked 1st in SG: Approach and 3rd in DraftKings points in the last 8 rounds. Many will deem his price as too expensive this week but he shares the same odds as another popular play in Gary Woodland to win at 66/1.

James Hahn $7600

Projected Ownership: 7%

James Hahn seems to like the RBC Canadian Open as he has made the cut in his last 3 visits. Hahn’s best result was a T11 in 2015. He is 6th in SG: Around The Green in the past 8 rounds and will be hard pressed to gain more than 10% ownership this week. I really like James Hahn as a pivot away from the popular Chad Campbell.

Scott Stallings $7500

Projected Ownership: 4%

Scott Stallings almost won the Barbasol Championship last weekend. He is now coming off of back to back finishes inside the top 5. Considering his form and price, he is someone that we should take notice. Outside of the studs like Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar, this is another weak field. Stallings has the motivation to continue playing well as he sitting just inside of the FedEx Cup standings. Scott Stallings finished T7 here in 2012.

Daniel Summerhays $7000

Projected Ownership: 7%

I am back on Daniel Summerhays again this week after writing about him for the John Deere Classic. He came thru by finishing 12th. Summerhays is playing on another course this week with bentgrass greens which is always an advantage for him. He is currently sitting one spot outside of qualifying for the FedEx Cup Playoffs at 126. I will gladly take the low ownership and $1000 price cut at the RBC Open.
