DraftKings PGA Projected Ownership Plays Of The Week: Quicken Loans National

It was a great week for the players picked at the Travelers Championship last week. 6 of the 10 golfers finished in the Top 26 led by Patrick Reed’s T5 finish. We now move from one par 70 course to another this week. TPC Potomac plays 7,107 yards and is relatively unknown to most players. The course has been redone and is a new venue for the Quicken Loans National. This is a second shot course which will require great putting and iron play. Let’s take a look at this week’s picks!

Russell Henley

Projected Ownership: 12%

Russell Henley is projected to have the 3rd highest Draftkings scoring week according to RotoQL’s lineup optimizer. He makes for a great play as he is the 8th most expensive golfer and expected to have low ownership. In Henley’s last start at the US Open, he finished 4th in Green In Regulation and 10th in Driving Accuracy. Both of these ball striking stats check the boxes needed to play well at the Quicken Loans National. He is also 14th in SG: Putting and 28th in Birdie Or Better % this season.

Xander Schauffele $8400

Projected Ownership: 7%

Xander Schauffele came into the public eye at the US Open where he found himself on the front page of the leaderboard on day 1. He would not falter and finished T5. Xander Schauffele followed that up with a T14 at the Travelers Championship last week. He has actually made 6 of his last 8 cuts with 4 finishes 30th or better. His season success could be attributed to being 36th in SG: Off The Tee, 24th in GIR% and 18th in Driving Distance. I expect the good form to continue this week making his $8400 price tag a great tournament option.

David Hearn $8100

Projected Ownership: 3%

Coming off back to back top 10 finishes has David Hearn priced over $8000. His play has heated up as the weather has gotten warmer. The high price tag should keep the ownership low which is why I am targeting Hearn in GPP tournaments this week.  David Hearn was T12 in Green In Regulation and 18th in SG: Putting last week which is much better than his season numbers. Ride his hot streak this week before others catch on.

Si Woo Kim $7500

Projected Ownership: 5%

Si Woo Kim is a boom or bust play that is worth playing anytime he starts.  One look at his recent results and you can see why people fear picking Si Woo Kim. His results are everywhere as he has 3 MC and 2 W/D. However, he has also finished  T22, 1st, and is fresh off a T13 at the US Open.  The high ceiling in a poor field makes him a very attractive low owned GPP play. Kim is 27th in SG: Around The Green which crucial at TPC Potomac.

Kevin Streelman $7400

Projected Ownership: 8%

Kevin Streelman is still very cheap despite 3 straight top 18 finishes. His game fits the style of a second shot course which should help him at the par 70 TPC Potomac. The nice thing is Streelman’s game has not been clicking on all cylinders but he has still been able to notch high finishes. He has either excelled in iron play or putting to make up for poor a ball striking or scrambling week.

Kevin Na $7400

Projected Ownership: 7%

Kevin Na game seems to have improved since he complained about the Erin Hills fescue. He has made 2 cuts in a row after missing 5 of the previous 6. Kevin Na has the skill set needed to succeed this week as his strength has always been par 4 scoring and his short game.
