English Premier League – Match Day 20

Crystal Palace vs West Ham United

Crystal Palace are coming off a 4-0 away loss against Manchester City the last time out, and the Eagles have been stumbling of late since they enter this matchup with a W1, D2, L2 record over their last five games while going two in a row without a win and without scoring (D1, L1). West Ham United have been trending in the opposite direction and remain alive on the race to clinch a UEFA Europa League berth — they’re on a three-game winning run following their 2-1 victory over West Bromwich and have gone undefeated in their last five league contests (W3, D2). West Ham (+141) might be playing on the road in this contest but are clear favorites due to their form over Crystal Palace (+228). While a draw (+230) isn’t entirely unlikely, the visitors are widely expected to continue their excellent form and secure the three points here.

Brighton Hove and Albion vs Fulham

Brighton Hove and Albion delivered a massive 1-0 away win over Leeds United the last time out — that victory was their lone three-pointer over their last five games (W1, D2, L2) but allowed them to move five points above the relegation zone despite an underwhelming record that reads W3, D8, L8 over their first 19 matches of the season. Fulham are coming off a 1-2 home loss against Manchester United and that result extended their losing streak to two games while also making it eight straight Premier League games without a win for The Cottagers (D5, L3). Brighton (+113) are clear favorites according to our model and they should walk away with the win here, especially since Fulham (+280) have won just one of eight games away from home this season.

Burnley vs Aston Villa

Burnley are coming off one of their best performances of the season and secured a 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield Road, a result that ended a two-game losing streak and a three-game winless streak away from home. The Clarets have gone W2, L3 in their last five league matches but if there’s one area improvement, that’s their offensive play since they’ve scored just 10 goals all season long. Aston Villa were also riding a three-game winless run in league play (D1, L2) before securing a 2-0 win over Newcastle United the last time out. Villa have also posted a W5, D1, L3 record when playing on the road, but they are riding three straight away games without a win (D1, L2). Aston Villa (+105) are favorites and have conceded just seven goals in 10 away games, but Burnley (+288) have the edge of playing at home and should have their morale at an all-season high. Expect the hosts to walk away with the three points despite being underdogs here.
